Hello to All! Anyone interested in putting together a small "Dormie" reunion, at the Texas reunion in 2008. Any suggestions on what we can all do? or meet? I know nothing about Texas! But can assist in getting things set-up. We had a little "Dormie" reunion in 2002 here in Las Vegas, and it was so much fun for me to see all the people that I spent so much of my life together with. Looking for classmates from the 77 - 80 era. I was in 6th, 7th and 8th grade at NHS and lived in Furth on the 2nd floor of a 3 story. Gunther Price lived right above me. Best school years and memories of my life and would love to talk to others. I remember an English? teacher, Ms. McAtee (super old). We called her "Mac Attack". Remember German teacher, Herr Koschau. Fond school trip memory to Munich on german bus playing our cassettes (soul) - flirting with Charlie William St. Clair. I only remember his name because we took polaroids that day and I saved it... Another class outing to Rothenburg, where they dropped us off at the bus and said we could roam free around town and meet back at the bus at 2pm. Wow! Those were the days... It is so neat to see "Ole Nurnberg" campus on the website. Great memories! We lived in Furth and I have such wonderful memories of the Senior trip to Rome. Paul says he doesn't remember much. Gee! I wonder why??? We hope to visit Nurnberg again in the not too distant future. I attended reunions in Breckenridge, Las Vegas and the Grand Reunion in Washington, D. C.. Paul and I attended the reunion in Orlando and we will definitely attend the one in San Antonio. The Riverwalk is just beautiful and so romantic. In fact, that is where we met after 43 years (another story). There are so many things to do and see and it should be lots of fun. San Antonio is very familiar to Paul as that is where he lived for many years (before me)and he has a sister living there also. We look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones. Hey all. Wow, does this bring back many memories for me. I attended Nurnberg Jr. High and High School my 6th, 7th and 8th grade year. We were stationed there from 81-84' We lived in Leased Housing by the Ice Cream Factory in the high rise buildings( I can't remember the name). There was only one row of us Americans out there, so if you lived there you'd know it. I remember a few names such as Monique Whitaker, we were in Mrs. Neeley's 6th grade class together. I attended NHS from 1986-1988. Seeing this site and the picture of the school brings back SO MANY great memories. Nurnberg was absolutely my favorite place that I lived. I miss it so much! I went back in 1994 and it was so different. I just sat down in front of one of the stairwells in Kalb, and cried my eyes out. I will be attending a mini-reunion in Myrtle Beach Oct 6-9. I went to zweibrucken elementary school from 3rd grade on. I only spent a few months at zweibrucken High School on the air force base before we moved to the states in 1984. I used to live in French Housing, but I spent a lot of my time at the AYA on base housing. I have so many great memories while living Zweibrucken Specially during my time at zweibrucken elementary. I remember my first day at zweibrucken high. I used to pick up the bus in French House to the air force base. I also remember getting lost my first day. Trying to find all my classes. Lunch was the best. I used to get Pizza's all the time. I was really enjoyed the bus rides... the luxury buses they used to transport everyone. Hey Every one, I am still here looking for old classmates, Willie Ayala, Mike Cole, Does any one remember Eddie Blanchette? He was a german american who usually hung out the fiests and the school and theater.Or Roy Yancy......Recently my 20 year old daughter moved to Germany with her army husband, imagine my laughter when she ran out of diapers for her twins, and good ole mom told her about the shopette, she had no clue, any way, the diapers were found, and knowledge from 35 years ago is still valid ..a scary thought that..I suppose that some thing just never change..while others are just in our memories.. Any way she likes Visleck and is travelling to see Nuremberg, and Furth, she loves the beer, but who didnt ...I am amazed after rereading some of the notes from other folks like myself how small the world really is, there are about 6 that I found and have yet to speak too, that are in the same state about a 100 miles away... but I think all army brats know how small the world really is ... WOW!!-GREAT SITE!!!...HOWDY FROM TEXAS ALL YOU EX- NUREMBURGERS!!!..i've spent a lot of of my life growing up in europe:/nuremburg-'69-75,augsburg81-84,munich84-88,chiemsee+bernau'85,i think nuremburg was the best time of my youth.i lived in kalb,on hans brinkler strasse,and lastly in nurnburg i lived in dambach on beethoven strasse,i attended the elementary school there across from the kindergarten and parade field- i remember every school year the high school would hold a giant bonfire on the parade field. ihad tons of friends that i still am trying to locate:brent buck,keenie pangman,jerry springfield,oscar mouton,leah green,tina may,brian moore+others.-/does anyone remember the huge abandoned mansion that was on the lot behind dambach?- we all had many adventures there until the army tore it down.in the cubscouts i also remember the giant bazaar that was held in the high school cafeteria every year+does anyone remember the tetherball poles located all over the high school?- i clearly recall the lunches on campus were fantastic!!the very best pizza i have ever had !!- also the mountains of french fries!i remember the lebkuchen factory near the ''four seasons store-it always had the best smells emiting from it until it was deemed pollution +they stopped emitting the smoke- does anyone who was in dambach remember MR. GUMMIES HOUSE?...EVERY TIME WE WOULD KNOCK ON HIS DOOR HIS SERVANTS would giv us free spezi and bags of gummie bears- sometimes we would getthe best stuff that were plastic seashells filled with candy! at school i had,:mrs.gill,mrs.versallini,ms.houtch,ms.campbell as i recall ,for us kids, on saturdays the main activity was the weekly matinee for kids at the theatre near the four seasons quikmart+toyland in 1984,while living in fryar circle, augsburg, i returned to nhs to look around!! it was terrific!!!IT REALLY BREAKS MY HEART TO SEE NOW THAT IT IS ALL 'GONE FOREVER,inn nurnburg my dad was a doctor at the army hospital , and in augsburg he was the commander of the hospital:COL. My sister (Lynn Wills, Winchester, KY) and I have visited your site and noticed that the entry for our Dad under your "Fallen Eagles" page shows his DoD as "Jul 1999." Please correct to Jul 1998. Also, you may want to include his middle name which he often used so the entry reads, "Sherrill Lee Fetzer." His days in high school in Germany served many stories. I seem to recall he was on the basketball team in the 46/47 or 47/48 school year. If we find any photos from that era we'll send them to you. One of his memories was being an American student who was released from class to see the Nurnberg War Crimes Trials. This would have had to have been the second or third such trials, not the first that included Hess, Goering, et al. Just a month before my Dad passed away he was still able to fly (his passion) in a friend's Stearman, and may have flown in his beloved Citabria a couple weeks before dying suddenly of brain cancer. He was truly a fallen eagle. His greatest love was the days spent in Germany between 1946 - 1948.

I attended NHS 7th thru part of the 10th, graduating stateside and I am on the board of directors of the NAA as the 70's era class representative. That should qualify that statement. LOL. I agree with your sentiments on stateside schools. My experience exactly. I was "found" in 99 right after the Breckenridge NHS reunion and had to wait until the 2001 Vegas reunion before I could go to a reunion and experience the amazing "coming home" feeling. I vowed at that time that I would never miss another reunion and true to my word I attended last years Orlando Reunion which was a kick again even though attendance was down. The board just voted on the 2008 location this past weekend and we have chosen the (DELETED BY WEBMASTER - announcement will be made in the next edition of the Trichter) for the third weekend in June of 2008. I hope you will consider joining the NAA and attending the reunion. So what's the scoop on the reunions and the alumni assoc? Can anyone who attended NHS join/come or did you have to graduate from there? I graduated from a "civilian" HS in northern WI, believe me I would much rather hang with Army kids any day!! I have gone back for only one reunion--the 20th, and it was borrrrrrring. The same clicks as HS, and 2 years at that HS was bad enough. If you didn't start kindergarten together, you were nobody. Coming in at Jr. year was a real challange, as everyone in that small town knew everyone else, and I was always "the new kid with the wierd background". How do you explain that your last HS was in Nurnberg Germany, and yes it was an American school, and no I didn't have to speak German all the time and so on. Waiting to see when and where next reunion is, and hopefully I can be there and party with like minded people!!!

Hiya! I did fine; left the day before the storm, went to Baton Rouge then upstate New York then Baton Rouge . Returned home asap. No flooding in my neighborhood, but lots of trees were in my backyard and my shed's roof is sitting on patio. Daughter Tif and son Paul lost all but are recovering well. Son Joseph did well. I was only there in the 7th and 8th grade but we were situated in the same building as shown on this web site. Anyone hearing how Barbara Grunning Guichet faired Katrina in New Orleans please let me know. Have not had any luck contacting her. Fortunately Les Smith, Class of '66, faired well in Houston since Rita's path changed. Two weeks in August I spent visiting DeVonna Campbell Frasier in WY. We also had a 4 hr. visit with Leslie Smith and his wife Cindy. Dee and I had a hoot at Yellowstone, Cody, Jackson Hole and more. Dee's younger sister, Glenna, class of 1970 or 71, rafted the Snake River. What a blast. Mrs. Campbell is doing great.

Nurnberg - What great memories I have of school - I was lucky my Opa and Oma lived in Zirndorf. Whenever Dad was tranfered to Germany I went to school in Nurnberg. Wow! I'm still in Orlando and someone beat me online...I just want to tell everyone who was not able to attend for whatever reason, good or bad, WE MISSED YOU!! This Nurnberg family is still the best, although we were low in attendance compared to the past, the warmth and togetherness was abundant. Gemundtlichheit, ja? Class of 67, you're the best, and we're still the hottest on the dance floor. We even found another German Restaurant to hit--two nights in a row-Thanks to Barbara and Ernie and Martin, Sonja, and the staff of Bauern Stube!! Be sure to get any of your recommendations for the next site to the Assn. Consider accommodations for a crowd ranging from 300-700, Airline/airports access, Room rates, and most-economic three day availability. Do your homework and get any facts in to the Assn. if you want input. It was a blast--Bev, Doug, Diane, Deb, Gordon, John, Mark, Mario-- Love you all!!

Even though I also didn't get to graduate with the class of '79 I still have many fond memories of NAHS. We were ordered back state side in 1977. Even the great times in ROTC and in Soccer. I also was in Junior High there. Many don't know this but I was also born there at the Nurnberg American Hospital that I hear is no longer standing. Would love to hear from old class mates.
