Went to grade school K - 2 in 59-62 then 6th -8th in 65-68. My best girlfriend was Sharon Greene. I lost touch with her back in early 70's. Her dad was in the 793rd MP CO and they rotated back early to Ft Jackson SC. I remember having a crush on the two Mikes, Barrett and Bever, and a wild pj party at Wendy Wallings house with Courtney Glover in attendance, 67-68? I remember sneaking cigarettes and playing 45's, nickle movies, the strassbahn, the zoo, bratwurst/brotchen, the boondocks, all those good things!. Several names and faces are familiar. It was a long time ago. Wanda Rawson was my next door neighbor for a while. My parents have stayed in touch with them. Lived on Gerhardt Hauptmann Strasse down at the end where the trail to walk through to PX (and German candy store) was. Had a blast while we lived there! Wouldn't have traded the experience for the world. I would like to get in touch with Sharon again if anyone has any info on her or knew her dad. I can't remember his first name. Lived in Grafenwohr and Vilsek Germany. We used to ride in on the old "crackerbox" bus to stay at "the old gasthaus known as Nürnberg Dorm" during the school year '64-'65. I played the bus driver in "No Time for Sargents" that year, but was otherwise pretty much invisible. Every so often, I hear from my old roomie, Duncan McKay, and from Carl & Ray Drummond, too. Went to Nürnberg kicking and screaming after having attended the previous 5 years at one school. Changing for my senior year? Are you kidding? Turns out to have been one of the best years of my life. Played football for the Bamberg Riders until midseason when I broke a leg. I arrived too late to make the school team. Have been reminiscing on the website the last few days. A lot of good memories. I'll be in San Antonio for my first reunion. Missed 1991 because I didn't know about it and I lived in the same town. Never have been able to make the rest. Hopefully that will change.

I spent 6 years going to the elementary schools in Nurnberg, but never had the chance to go to the high school. We spent a lot of time in the gym there though. Does anyone remember playing DYA football for the red/blue cardianl's? Fondest memories would have to be the bon fire, the annual carnival, and walking to my school past all the "big" high schoolers smoking across the street from the school.

This is my first entry to the Eagles. I came from N.M. after starting my senior yr. in Oct.'63. I have some great memories of Nuernberg and the dorm. I rode the bus from "Hof" each Sunday and had loads of fun with Gary Williams and Karen Pierce was my roommate.JanThornburg and Rosemarie Sheldon were quick to welcome me to NHS. Things are great for me @ 30 I finally mellowed out got married...yeah...me...married and at age 33 my wife Laurie and I had our first child and that changed me so much I laid down my badge and gun for good. To all of you out there, you have no idea how long I have waited for someone to finally find a way for everyone to re-unite on the web!! For those of you that remember me, I have spent most of my life in Germany, in Vilseck, and have been back in the Richmond, Va. area since April 15th, 2005. I returned here with my oldest daughter, Angelica and my youngest daughter, Christina, stayed in Amberg to finish her education, which she did in September 2007. I have been busy trying to re-aclimate in the American Society and trying to find suitable employment. It was great visiting with Rick Kelly and his wife Kathy while in Kansas City for a conference in early December. I found the alumni group back in 2000 and can say how great it is to re-acquaint with old friends. Hopefully many of you will make a committment to attend the San Antonio reunion in June. I went to NHS in 1959 and 1960. Lived on Pastoriastrasse near Merrill Barracks. My most memorable teacher was Mr Estey, 8th grade science. Got a chance to visit him over the weekend. He lives in Monroe, OR, population 680, just south of Corvallis. I spent three and a half entertaining hours with him and his beautiful wife. I talked little and there were no lulls in the conversation. They live in the house that his wife grew up in and the one that they returned to when they returned from overseas. He is just as bright and outgoing as when he was at NHS. He should be in his mid to late 70's, but you can not tell it with either of them. I would pass along his e mail address and cell phone number, but he has neither. In fact the phones in the house are one rotary and one crank. He works pretty much full time at the golf course in Monroe, in charge of repairing 65 golf carts. He is listed in the book.

Greetings Eagles! NAHS is in great shape these days and the housing areas look fantastic. I am in Germany quite often and visit regularly. The school has been fixed up and is being used again after sitting empty for so long. Plus, I was able to 'borow' the good-bye banner that the students hung near the bus entry way. Can you imagine it hung there for over 10 years? Being a journalist does have its advantages as the official was like yeah, whatever take the banner dude as we will have to throw it away anyway! BTW: they are just now getting around to reconstructing the locker rooms which have not been used since the school closed. They had no idea what to do with two basketball courts! And for those of you who remember stealing away for lunch at Pacos Tacos - it is sadly gone... replaced by a Lidle or an Aldi. Bamberg - is still being used by the US military to this day - no real changes there. Erlangen, only a small part of the base remains(officers club as it was a protected building, the roller rink(where I used to DJ) and part of the old PX) most of it was leveled and the housing area has been reconstructed as well. I only went to NAHS from 81-83 while I lived in Erlangen, and spent my time hanging out with Danny Turgeon, JJ Frederick, the Stokes bros, Jose, Dusty, Manuella Schoeneggar, and many many others. I didnt actually graduate from NAHS, however, I did attend for a few years. I am just saying Hi to everyone who remembered me. A lot of people probably knew my brother Dyrone "Dee" Sandifer. He has passed this life, Sept. 1994, only a couple of years after we left NAHS. Always remember him. Stumbled across this Guest Book while searching for an old entry I made on a site in Ruislip, England. Had been searching for my birth mother, have finally found her after 52 yrs, and will be going to meet her in Nov 2007! Wanted to post my finding when I stumbled onto this site. Seems one of my roommates from the Dorm, Debbie Graves, was looking for me a few years ago. I shall attempt to contact her. I have great memories of my Freshman and Sophmore years at Nurenburg High School and the crazy times in the Dorm. Thanks to the great extra curricular activities there, I got to attend some great events, most memorable the Jimi Hendrix "Experience" concert, and the Rhein River Cruise! What I remember most about Debbie is her love of Diana Ross and the Supremes! Man, we had great times.....................then it was off to Taipei, Taiwan where I attende Taipei American High School and graduated in 1971 (even more great memories).
